Do You Ever Feel Like Quitting Dentistry?

Have you ever felt like throwing in the towel and selling your dental office or just closing the doors and walking away because it so hard to make a profit and have job satisfaction? Because you’re worn out from trying to do it all, working long hours and still feeling totally overwhelmed.

Imagine if there was a way for you to love your work, make great money and to have a life and happiness outside of the dental office.

Stress and Overwhelm = Burnout

I remember feeling stressed, overwhelmed and finished . . . I couldn’t face another day behind the chair, I was mentally and physically drained. I felt like quitting, selling my dental office and never picking up a drill again.

But I realised I loved dentistry and was quite good at it but I needed to find a way to manage my practice to let me enjoy my job and live the life I wanted.

I found that investing in a mentor and coaching helped me to discover how to run my dental office as a successful business. This was the missing piece of the puzzle. Since then I have more than doubled my income, work less hours and have constant growth in my business.

I believe as a dentist you can have it all – a dental office that supports you to live the life you want so you don’t have to be the one doing it all and end up depressed, burnt out, divorce and broke.

I stand for dentists like you – you deserve to be successful, happy and healthy.

Turn Your Dental Office Around

You might be worried that investing more money in your dental office when you can’t even meet your bottom line is too much of a risk right now.

You may be thinking that you’re already working really hard and doing so much that you just can’t take on anymore by learning and implementing new things.

But what if under those worries and doubts you know you can’t keep going as you are . . . how much more stress, debt, workload can you handle?

How long will you/can you wait for things to change? Next month, next year – well as they say next year never comes.

Are you the one doing it all in your office? Do you feel like you are the only one who does any work around here? Do your team just stand around waiting for you to tell them what to do. Do you wish you could tame your team and get them to help you more?

Tips To Have Your Team Do More

Well here are my 3 tips to have your team step up and support you to have a well run dental practice so you can do less and make more money.

  1. Create a compelling vision and share this with your team. Have goals, have a dream. What is your why – why did you become a dentist, open your own practice? Where do you want to be, what do you want your dental practice to be known for, what will be your legacy? Get you team to buy into this, make it their reason for coming to work, make it their why and more than just a J.O.B.
  2. Systemise Everything and delegate it to your team. Do what you like to do, what you are good at, what adds the most value – stick to drilling teeth. The rest delegate or hire for. Write it all down and teach them how to do it.
  3. Train and Empower your team. Teach them how you do things, how you want them to be done, then train, train, train them until they do it like second nature, in their sleep. Review them, hold them accountable and follow up to make sure its getting done your way. Allow your team to help you and stop trying to control them and micromanage everything. Learn to trust them and let them step up by empowering them in your business.

You can get your team working for you so you can work less hours and make more money… you simply need the courage to do it and a plan of action to implement.
